This is a new display that I have in the hall all year long. I got the directions from the book A Year of Quilts from TLC Lessons. I put up fadeless bulletin board paper and drew stitching to divide the squares with a white crayon. I love the way it looks every month. The TLC projects are an easy way to teach following directions, shapes, spatial relationships and many other skills. The kids thoroughly enjoy doing them and they are so proud of the finished project.

October Quilt - This was so good for the kids because they had to figure out the correct way to place the triangles on the sides. It was like a puzzle to them.

November Quilt - Doing this lesson allowed me to introduce octogons to the kids. They were so proud of themselves that they learned that word and they made 2 octogons. It is a beautiful November display, too.

December Quilt - I think this is one of my favorites. It looks beautiful in the hall and the kids learned a lot while making their tree. Because of TLC Lessons, my students easily make triagles from squares. They are also understand the concept of half.

January Quilt - I think this is one of my favorites. It looks beautiful in the hall and the kids learned a lot while making their tree. Because of TLC Lessons, my students easily make triagles from squares. They are also understand the concept of half.
